The Younger Years Virtual

The Younger Years offers most of our assessment and therapy services online to children, young people and/or their families “virtually” via video or telephone, this is referred to as “Telehealth”.

We do not have any waiting lists for our Telehealth psychologists and have immediate appointments available to suit you or your child’s needs, without the restriction of having to travel to one of our practice locations.

Our online therapists have experience supporting those experiencing

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Child behavioural problems (e.g., temper tantrums, non-compliance and defiance)

  • Parenting challenges

  • Stress

  • Body image and eating/dieting concerns

  • Emotional regulation difficulties

Telehealth sessions allow you to flexibly fit psychological support into your family’s life, your way. All you need is a quiet and confidential room for your session. No need to take additional time out of your day to drive and park. Additionally, it means we can offer therapy to people living in regional and rural Australia and those with special access needs.

Telehealth has been a huge success in psychology and research suggests the outcomes are equally as good as in person appointments for the above concerns. In addition, research shows that Telehealth sessions are highly acceptable to individuals and families accessing psychological support in this way. Furthermore, “telehealth” sessions also attract a Medicare rebate if your GP has referred you via a Mental Health Care Plan.

The Younger Years uses secure medical-grade conferencing technology to ensure your privacy and to maximise call quality.
