Clinical Psychologists in Inner West Sydney and Cottesloe Perth

The Younger Years specialises in supporting the mental health and well-being of children, adolescents, their families and young adults. We are located in a quaint and discrete cottage in the Inner West and on the coast in Cottesloe, we’ve created an environment that is calming and nurturing. It's here that psychological support is tailored to the individual needs of families and young adults. We provide effective, evidence based, assessment and treatment for anxiety (including the “Cool kids” and Teen “Chilled” anxiety program), depression, emotional dysregulation, behavioural, neurodevelopmental, perinatal, early childhood, and eating issues. Sessions are offered in person and virtually. We also provide psychometric assessments which can be a way to determine a child or young person's strengths and needs.

Qualified, Experienced Team

We have a unique team of child, adolescent and young adult - focused psychologists, who are compassionate, professional and capable of helping you achieve your goals. Each clinician has been carefully selected by Dr. Veronica McLennan, to ensure there’s someone on the team that’s able to support whatever your concern may be.

Psychological Interventions

We provide specialist clinical services for children, adolescents, their families and young adults to improve mental health outcomes and general well-being. Individual and family therapy is tailored to the unique needs of each individual during this developmental period of change.

Psychometric Testing

Use of standardised assessments can be one useful way to gain further understanding of a child or young person's strengths and needs. Assessments can be used to explore overall high ability (i.e. 'giftedness'), as well as specific learning needs (e.g. dyslexia or dyscalculia) or more general insight into ability and attainment to direct further support.

Anxiety Programs

We offer the Cool Kids Anxiety Program. It is offered as individual sessions to children and adolescents aged 7-17 following an initial assessment to determine suitability.

Child Psychologists

At The Younger Years we support families across the years, that is from pregnancy right through to adulthood! Our clinicians work at promoting the emotional well-being of both babies and parents.

Virtual Sessions

The Younger Years offers most of our assessment and therapy services online to children, young people, their families and young adults, “virtually” via video or telephone.
